Approach
Arrival by car
Coming from Dresden on the A17 (motorway) in direction to Prag/ Praha/Praque. Turn off the motorway at the junction Pirna (6) in direction to Bad-Schandau.
Follow the signposts to Pirna. Pass through Pirna and follow the B172 (A-Road) until you arrive at Bad Schandau.
In Bad Schandau stay on the main road (B172) and follow the signposts to Schmilka, Decin. Driving on, having the river Elbe to your right side, you will see the Quartier Elbblick on the left at the hillside after about 0.5 miles.
The house is free-standing, and illuminated at night.
The best will be to park in one of the parking bays at the roadside and ascend the long staircase (90 stairs) to the house.
Arrival by train
The quickest way to get to the Quartier Elbblick is with the S-Bahn (suburban train) from Dresden main train station or Dresden-Neustadt. The trains go at hourly intervals and call at Bad Schandau (Ferry). If possible stay on the train for one more stop - which is called Krippen.
Attention: Not all trains call at Krippen. There you take the ferry and cross over the Elbe. Once arrived on the other side walk upstream for about 11 minutes. The Quartier Elbblick is on the left at the hillside. The house is free-standing, and illuminated at night.
S-Bahn timetables on the internet
Just enter "Dresden" as starting point and "Bad Schandau" as destination and start the request. When asked for the precise train stations, enter "Hauptbahnhof" as starting point and "Krippen" as destination.
